Romance/Erotica

I understand that erotica and romance are VASTLY different subjects, but there can be romance in and erotica, and vice versa. Some of these keywords do cross between the genres – for instance, if I wrote a romance novel with lots of steamy scenes, I would include sex fiction etc, just to make sure that the book is targeted towards readers who don’t mind some graphic scenes. My books are far from erotica, but because they have descriptive lovemaking scenes, I like to throw in a couple of ‘erotic’ keywords.

Condensed List

If I have to, I will skip using descriptors like action, adventure, dark, gritty, etc, but if I can keep them, I will. My novels ARE gritty and dark, with quite graphic violence (and sex) at points, and I do everything I can to point that out so an unassuming reader isn’t shocked or upset when they get to one of those scenes.
